Fire Warden/ Marshal Course

4 HOUR COURSE

The Fire Warden/Marshalls’ course complies with The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 which requires that employers provide adequate fire safety training for their staff.  Successful students receive certificates to show that they are qualified to be Fire Marshals’ in the workplace.

 

Course Overview

This course is aimed at staff allocated this role and responsibility and will give them a greater awareness of the risks of fire and the control measures to prevent it occurring, additionally they will have the ability to manage day to fire safety and oversee and control emergency situations; delegates will also receive practical use of fire extinguishers.

 

Course Content

  • What to do on discovering a fire

  • What to do upon hearing the alarm

  • Procedures for dealing with visitors

  • Evacuation procedures

  • Appropriate use of extinguishers

  • The importance of keeping fire doors closed

  • The importance of stopping processes and machinery

  • Isolation of power supplies

  • Importance of good house keeping

  • The use of premises by other agencies

  • Live fire demo with purpose built fire rig enables candidates to use extinguishers

 

Outcomes

Candidates will be able to manage fire safety for premises and deal with emergency situations
